For those of you that read this blog
and so freely feel the need
to share disrespectful and hateful comments
regarding Savanah and our decision
as her parents to give her every opportunity
to hear and live in the hearing world
Please keep your comments to yourself.
This blog is an opportunity for myself
and Savanah to record and share
our experiences living and learning
in a CI world.
We have trials and tribulations
like everyone else
and for those of you that believe that we
chose this for her,
Savanah wanted another implant.
This was 100% her decision.

You are absolutely right that this decision belongs to your family. Many Deaf people feel strongly that this decision may have not been made with as open mind, which is why there are disrespectful comments. Deaf people are tired of people who can hear making decisions on behalf of Deaf people for over 100 years, that it is more important to HEAR, rather than seeing us as WHOLE people. We are trying to let you know that we are just fine the way we are! Now, we are seeing on your website pictures of your daughter with huge bandages on her head, then a big "machine" on her head (in our view, mind you) - which emphasizes the importance of HEARING... the majority of Deaf people are wondering why people who can hear cannot accept and love Deaf people for the way we are?
Thank you for "listening" to us, for a change. :)
It is sad, but apart from a very sad loony fringe of deaf people, most of us wish you and yours good luck and respect what is your decision, no-one else's. Such 'haters' bring deaf people into disrepute, we don't support them.
